I had been thinking of getting the late-1980s and relatively rare Micro-Nikkor 55mm/2.8 AF as a hypersharp lens that could do macro, but I got the opportunity to test the 1970s 3.5 and the 1980s AI-S 2.8 Micro-Nikkors at Glass Key Photo earlier and really liked the 3.5's rendering and lighter weight.

And the price was pretty decent too, $65!
